I feel so encouraged!! I am struggling with rebellion however my heart has been softened in trusting God. I recently failed a spiritual test of faith however I believe the test was more to show me, my own integrity (I believe God knew in this case I would fail). Being on the other end of the calamity I appreciate this sermon because it offers affirmation that God will provide AND HE DOESN'T NEED MY ASSIST. I like how you mentioned the relationship Abraham already had with God - often people blatantly say "JUST DO IT." (which faithly yes) but it is endearing and peaceful to consider the relationship from the source you are taking instructions from in this faith journey. - God answered my prayer when I prayed it but he also wanted me to journey with my dream up to Mount Moriah and lay it before him which i could not do... and now it harder to do now.. ( which is why this was encouraging) I guess it is to show me I'm the only one hindering the plans. & even if I were to receive the full extent of the blessing the folly of my hands would mess it up. I recently began reading 1 Samuel and was introduced to Hannah I saw how she made a vow 1samuel1:11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. I peeped that she didn't necessarily fully keep her vow 1Samuel 1:22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the Lord, and there abide for ever. I dont know how this ends up but I was convicted by that and encouraged by this sermon. Eyeyiyi... I feel mix of conviction and encouragement but that rebellion is a beast and the shame of it all is keeping at the bottom of the mountain... *sigh*

The truth, is plainly written in the Bible.
